The educational Institute “Protipo Athinon” is hosting the touring photographic exhibition “Myrtis, face to face with the past”.

29th of March – 5th of April 2011

On Tuesday, 5th of April 2011, “Protipo Athinon” will inaugurate the photographic exhibition on the reconstruction of the face of an eleven year old Athenian girl, who died during the early years of the Peloponnesian War due to typhoid fever.  The exhibition has been attained thanks to the generous offer of Manolis I. Papagrigorakis, dentist-orthodontist, Assistant Professor and in cooperation with the students and teachers of our school.

The teen-age Athenian girl will have the chance to “meet with” her peers and “tell” them about her life in Athens during the first years of the War, her pursuits, her fears and her worries…  The past meets with the present and together they gaze into the future in the spectrum of perpetual evolution…

During the exhibition, “Protipo Athinon” has scheduled speeches to be given by Manolis J. Papagrigorakis (dentist-orthodontic) and Phillip Sinothinos, who will be actively surrounded by our students and teachers.  A common goal is to shed light to the aspects of everyday life during the Peloponnesian War, in an effort to seek for the “mysteries” of time that Myrtis kept hidden so well…
