For the first time in the new year 2011, I communicate with you by Myrtis’ e-newsletter.

On Friday, 14th January 2011, the exhibition “Myrtis: Face to Face with the Past” opened in the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, where it will run until the 13th March.

On Friday, 11th February, an art exhibition with paintings and sculptures by 30 Greek artists started in another hall of the above Museum. This exhibition, with works of art offered kindly by the artists in support of the research program “Myrtis” running in the University of Athens, was first presented to the public in the Magna Gallery, in Athens.

On Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th February mornings, there took place two guided tours in the exhibition, for the teachers of educational institutions of Thessaloniki and also “The Friends of the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki”, while on Sunday 27th afternoon, the storyteller Agni Stroumbouli and the soprano Angelica Cathariou presented the ancient fairy-tale “Eros and Psyche”, from the novel “Metamorphoses”, otherwise known as “The Golden Ass”, of the Latin author Apuleius of the 2nd century AD.
